Please help!!

Postby minniemouse » Thu Jul 10, 2008 12:43 pm

Hi I am a compulsive liar. I found that I have been lieing about everything. The lies are starting to get even worse and bigger. I told the police that I had been sexually assautled but I hadnt. I have even told my family that I had a form of leukemia last year. I even lie about people that I know dieing

I am so hugely ashamed of myself and guilty. I dont know what is going t o happen to me. I am currently seeing a psychiatrist regarding my unbeaten depression. Could this perhaps be a symptom of this?

Please can someone help!!!

Hi, minniemouse! Welcome to the forum. Maybe this has to do with your depression too. Could you talk to your psych about it? You are brave for admitting that you have this problem and wanting to change. I'm sure you must be feeling guilty, but you have to think of yourself and heal and you can try to make it up to the people you've hurt as well. Give yourself a break.

I feel quite embarresed and ashamed of myself. I feel a bit out of control with it. The more I think about what I have done the more I feel ashamed and a bit panicked. I didnt go to my session yesterday cos I just felt more and more ashamed of myself. These days I just seem to hide out in my room cos too ashamed.

You can't change anything by being ashemed. Maybe someone made you feel that way before too and it has to do with why you lie. Just a thought. You're a strong person and you can get over this.
