I had a friend who came clean and told me his reason for lying. This was after it caught up with him. We're no longer friends.
A person has a learning problem, or memory deficit, or both. So, they end up trying to hide this, by lying. Nonetheless, they usually get caught.
Ironic isn't it: "A good liar has a good memory".
David,
You Bet! They have to, to cover all those lies. Some people
dont even know they are doing it. They are just spinning their own reality. This is not an excuse.
My belief: Don't write checks with your mouth, that your ass cant cash.
But people like that (my ex step mom) lie before they ever think!!!
Example from my life:
My dad dies in the night, I am called and come immediately, my dad does not have much, a old green truck, my great grand fathers red toolbox.
My father for some reason called me every day that week, he never did that. So I mention my dads truck wasn't sitting there,
She says he sold it.(my father would have told me) I tell her I am not going to take anything from her but dad promised me this old tool box, her response? "It was stolen by mexicans!" and everyone agreed. ( I was my dad's only blood relative there)
A month later she drops the red toolbox by my house.
I can't type what I thought or what I wanted to do to her.
What the hell? mexicans? why? Compulsive Liars dont change.
sorry to vent, just letting you know I understand the betrayal and the stupidity of it all.
