Am I a compulsive liar?

Postby Guest » Fri Mar 17, 2006 8:32 am

If so, please help.
I think...I know that I have a problem. My wife and I have been married for 4 years. I am 23 and she is 22. We married very young. This is the only serious relationship that I have ever been in. I have lied to her from the beginning. Normally, I would just lie about little things. Recently, my wife discovered that I had been flirting with a co-worker. I have not, nor would I ever, cheat on her. I explained to her that it made me feel a sense of excitement to have someone else interested in me. I hurt her tremendously by doing that. I usually lie to her to avoid hurting her feelings, and to avoid confrontations. I noticed the other day that I blurt out lies before I even think about it. I am at risk of losing my wife....any help would be appreciated!
I am considering counseling, but not sure of the cost. We are a family of limited means and I was wondering if insurance covers counseling.

Please help!

Most insurance does cover counseling, I think that maybe you should get into some, and maybe get into some couples therapy. It might be good to have a professional there to go over issues between you and your wife, while you two are together.
