Nons sensing defensiveness in BPD's?

Postby Meeb » Sun Jul 08, 2012 2:39 am

So I've noticed patterns where nons will sense or get a vibe of defensiveness from me and other BPD sufferers and based on this, regardless of assurances of not being in a bad mood, the nons will decide what your character is and will choose how they act around you. How can one explain that this is just how they appear and they are not generally in a pissy mood? It's normal to us but as I'm sure many of us know others pick it up as abnormal and they may say something about it.

Also, any BPD sufferers here get lost in their own thoughts while going through daily things?

*looks around* ... ok, no nons, right? here's my plan: i'm gonna walk around with a couple of bpd books (like the people that walk around talking about the 'good book'?) and when that hamster starts spinning in that wheel in that head of theirs i'm gonna break out the ('good') bpd book and BAM! find the page that explains whatever crazy mood i'm in.

and honey, i get lost in my thoughts getting lost in my thoughts! Image

Yep, this has caused big issues for me with my partner.
He'll say something particularly stupid - I'll make a flippant remark and all of a sudden I'm in a "crappy" mood (to him) which then makes me go in defensive mode by trying to reassure him I'm not in a bad mood - which then makes me go into a bad mood and WWIII starts.
Also I notice people at work say similar things, particularly when I'm quiet/go silent.
And yes again to the thoughts, mine don't stop EVER if they did I'd be happier, Instead I'm always a busy body :-)
Hope this rests your mind a little...

I use to get this at work and I get it at home and with friends. I tend to be more introverted and sometimes I just need that time. I don't like to be bothered though when in those moments.

And as for thoughts... The sun has not even begun to rise yet and I woke up yet once again with thoughts. At times I feel as though my head will explode with them. Internal workings of a mind should be equipped with not only an on/off switch but a light switch as well. It can get pretty dark.

And Wine. The emoticons you use are adorable. Thought you should know that. :)
