i've heard that exercise helps too, but i think that it can go one of two ways - disaster or genuinely helpful! from research i've done, it seems that chronic fatigue is one of those weird illnesses that is usually a symptom of something else. so therefore the way you treat it is dependent on the cause in the first place. a friend of mine suffers alongside a different condition, and exercise makes her much much worse. for me, i find gentle exercise like yoga really helps especially if it becomes a regular part of my week.
that comes in to what you were saying ali - about it possibly being linked to depression. exercise releases endorphins apparently, which may help to explain why i find it helpful. unfortunately, because my mood and motivations change so swiftly, I often wont maintain any kind of timetable, let alone exercise!
demitria - i've never heard of your condition before, but i'm saddened to hear that you suffer so much. i think it is entirely possible that you're right though, and that perhaps your two seperate diagnosis are the same condition underneath?
what i'm about to say is a little "new age hippy" but i do believe that the body reflects the mind - people with bpd generally suffer and have tormented minds a lot of the time, and so it isnt really that surprising that the trauma involved in this much pain may manifest physically.
either way, CFS is one of those illnesses which isnt really researched and no one has been able to offer any real explanation for - even the name Chronic Fatigue Syndrome really just describes the symptoms back to the patient!! but it's interesting to hear peoples experiences and theories
