wow I haven't listened to Pure Shores in ages. I'm downloading that when I get home. I'll also post some stuff later when I'm not rushing off to a counselling session. :)

Awwww I can't remember the last time I heard All Saints.

2 of my favourite relaxing songs:

Enya - Only Time (although I think they play it a lot on 9/11 tribute videos, so don't listen if you think it'll make you sad)

Ingrid Michaelson - Keep Breathing
~The Official Crazy Cat Lady

okay here are, in my opinion, a few of the most beautiful and relaxing songs by Angels and Airwaves, because I adore them and they have some really lovely stuff:

Moon as my Witness
All That we Are -I'm currently madly in love with this one and have been listening to it on repeat ♥
Breathe
Good Day

and as an added bonus, an ambient tune which, if this isn't relaxing, I don't know what the hell is. it makes me feel incredibly peaceful the moment it comes on:

All or Nothing (RQ remix)

I'll be back

I've been in love with Leo since he was 15 and on the show Growing Pains!

annnd I'm back!

I recently discovered Jon Hopkins. absolutely amazing melodic electronic music. from dark, haunting pieces to beautiful raw piano. here are what I think are the most soothing tracks from the only album of his I have downloaded so far:

The Wider Sun
The Low Places
Small Memory
A Drifting Up
Autumn Hill

"A Manchester based band, Marconi Union, has worked with sound therapists to create a tune that is described by scientific researchers as the “most relaxing song ever”.

The harmonies, rhythms, tones and frequencies of the track entitled Weightless have been crafted specifically using the scientific principles of sound therapy so as to slow down breathing and brain activity, as well as slowing down the heart rate which automatically reduces blood pressure. Levels of the stress hormone cortisol are also lowered.

Weightless uses a process called ‘entrainment’ to relax the listener – the continuous rhythm of 60 bpm (beats per minute) causes the brainwaves and heart rate to synchronise with the rhythm, before gradually slowing to around 50.

Marconi Union, who specialise in ambient electronic music, worked together with Lyz Cooper, founder of the British Academy of Sound Therapy to create the 8 minute track."
