He's kind of the poster child for us, isn't he? Right now, it's down to him and Angelina Jolie (who is suspected, but has never revealed). It just seems to be a thing that anyone famous who either has, or is suspected of having BPD has a rap sheet half a mile long, a standing reservation in the Betty Ford clinic, or a permanent resting place. You never seem to get people like Mother Theresa or Nelson Mandela coming out and saying they have BPD.

But I hear you. We all know how hard it is coming out and admitting it to close friends and family. Doing it on national television in a profession where only the strong survive? You know he was shaking like a leaf before that press conference. Kudos to him for doing it.

A lot of celebrities dead or alive have been suspected of having BPD, but I have never heard of one coming out and admitting to receiving a diagnosis until Brandon Marshall. I'm thrilled that he's been so open about it, and he's a man so he's helping a lot with some of the negative stereotypes about BPD. He's kind of expressing what it really is, a mental illness that affects lots of different kinds of people in lots of different kinds of ways. But I bet he was shocked when he got diagnosed.

He did not just admit it, he went a step further saying :

-- I will be the face of BPD --

No other celebrity has admitted it before, and I do not blame them. It is not a requirement to go public about serious private struggles. Even with friends and family, it is not always easy, and sometimes not a good idea at all to expose all that. Sometimes it is better to keep this between you and your doctor. It's a choice.

You know what ? I don't think it's fair to say : 'oh, Angelina Jolie should admit, when is she going to talk?' It's her life , her choice. And maybe she does not even have BPD.... I guess she does, but can't be sure. It's not a requirement for her to admit this kind of stuff in public.

To come back to Brandon Marshall , Yes, thank you man ! Not just because you admitted it , but because you offered to be the face of BPD.
We know that many celebrities came forward to talk about all kinds of disorders and mental illnesses, but not BPD.... So, Marshall gave it his face ! 8) Not bad, right ? Handsome+sexy, talented, respected, and loved by how many fans around the world ?

I never said that she should admit it, and I resent the implication that I did. I said that she "is suspected (of having BPD), but has never revealed (it publicly)." Most of us don't reveal it to 99% of the world, so I wouldn't expect anything different from her, especially since her entire career is made on the public's perception of her. If people don't like her, she won't get movie roles and won't make money. So no, I'm not faulting her for it; not in the least.

lol
Take it easy, I was not talking about your post ! I just saw the name Angelina in your post, and it rang a bell. As soon as people mention BPD online, they come up with her name, and too many complain because she never went public about it, claiming she should.
