Hi Mfm- welcome to the forums.
Please don't be offended if your post isn't answered right away- sometimes people just don't have the right words at the right time, and we're all on different time zones, but someone will answer. You're not being ignored.
As Z said, the pills aren't used specifically for BPD, but the other stuff that goes with it- the mood swings, depression, anxiety etc.
Relationships are a big issue and a huge trigger for me- I've just said to my therapist this week that I really need help to work on that. He's set me homework (writing letters to the people that hurt me) which I'm putting off at present, but I am going to have to (begrudgingly) do it.
Have you looked into seeing any one else for therapy on a more regular basis? Three months is a long stretch between appointments. I'd end up off the rails and a total mess if I had to wait that long between appointments.
Different meds work differently for each person, so it's something you'd need to discuss with your psychiatrist. Have you told him about the side effects you're getting with it? Some people are on antipsychotics, others on mood stabilisers, antidepressants, anxiety meds or a combination.
Don't be afraid to ask questions, and there's no such thing as a silly question here.
Hugs
Lily
