BPD and the MBTI (Myers-Briggs) and Enneagram Tests

Postby Shayea » Sat Oct 15, 2011 6:08 pm

I'm going to be taking the official MBTI through my school's career services. Up until now, I've used this site (which I believe to be fairly accurate) to check my personality type:
http://similarminds.com/embj.html
This website gives you your Myers Briggs Type (and percentages of each of the 4 subsets) as well as your Enneagram (with descending order of percentages of applicable other types).

My Enneagram type almost never changes. I'm almost always a type 4 wing 3 (this means that my type is 4, and my second-highest adjacent number percentage is 3).
A year and a half ago, I typed as a 6. But I take the test about every 3 months, and it's been consistently 4w3 for the past year.
here's how to read your results: http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/intro.asp

But strangely, my MBTI is not consistent at all because two of the categories are almost a 50/50 split. In the past year, I've typed as an INTP, an ENFP, and an ENTP. These are all intuitive perceiving types, so at least the NP is consistent.

So here's my challenge to you:
Do your types also change? What is your type right now? Do you think we'll have similar personality types, having the same personality disorder? Let's find out. Post your Enneagram number (with a wing if you have one) and your Myers Briggs type. Test again in 3 months, see what changes.

Today, I'm an ENTP 4w3.

My guess would be that many of us might probably be MBTI "I"s vs "E"s. I am only guessing that though because on other disorder-type forums that I've been on, whenever this type of question has come up before, most of the people who have responded to the question have always said that they were introverts. I don't recall anyone ever responding that they were an extrovert. So, it'll be interesting to see how people respond to this thread here.

I took the test 15 years ago at my workplace, and I came out as an INTJ. Over the years, I've taken similar online tests on my own, and I have always come out as an INTJ although the tests sometimes show that I have some ISTJ traits mixed in.

I clicked on the link and just thought arrgggghhh not that one again!

i can't take these things. I used to consistently come out as an ENTP but have very good reason to believe im not an NT at all. i have some ideas e.g. i seem to be more of a P than a J, but can't really answer half the questions either.

Yay! the Enneagram! I brought this up in the past on this forum but no one responded....
I'm a type 4 too! but I have a 5 wing... So I'm a 4w5.
My enneagram type has never changed.. despite how many times and how many different tests I have taken..

My Myer-Briggs type has changed a bit over the years.. It is usually INFP.. but i have also come in as an ISFP.. and an INFJ....

Well, it sort of describes me. I get a huge buzz when I'm out with people, I definitely focus on the here and now, I withhold judgement till I know the facts of everything, and I am a bear with very little brain so logic doesnt quite work with me, I tend to focus more on experience. It was the organised religion bit that threw me.

INFP
Enneagram 4, social variant (I have no idea what that means)
Can't figure out what my wing is
I believe one writes because one has to create a world in which one can live. I could not live in any of the worlds offered to me —
I had to create a world of my own, like a climate, a country, an atmosphere in which I could breathe, reign, and recreate myself when destroyed by living.
