Confused by what people say online!!

Like if people mention stuff on facebook like meet up tomorrow or go round to their place I don't know what to make of it like its not clear, like I can't make sense of anything unless its said directly? And I would really like to meet up with people but I find it really hard to make head or tale of, and its OK if that's not what they meant either but I don't understand things sometimes, like was that comment really meant for me and is it actually anyone trying to ask anything? And then I don't know whether to txt them and ask or not... Does anyone get what I mean?

Facebook is bad for that. I used to be on it, and found the same thing. Posts and replies tend to wander drastically, and you're never sure what was meant for you and what wasn't. On the upside, that only seems to occur on FB/other social media sites. In person, email or text, people seem to be a lot clearer about when and where. And you KNOW they're talking to you.

Yeah exactly. And everything always gets misinterpreted so people start disssing each other. Facebook sucks.

Online relationships can be very trying as well.

My take on that is that I'm sometimes self-conscious of whether they are really talking to ME, or if they'd really want me there. Now, if they posted it directly on my wall, or sent an event invitation, then I would consider myself invited.

However, if they were part of some social group or clique that I'm not closely tight with, and they put something as a status update for "everyone to meet at Cheesecake Factory for happy hour", then I wouldn't be showing up. If it is however, a closer friend, I would consider myself welcome.

Does that make it clearer, or more muddled? LOL.
