I keep listening to this song, thinking about it. So, yes, he ends up killing his girlfriend, and this is not typical borderline behavior, but otherwise...

I could easily see a borderline man killing his girlfriend, in fact prisons are full of borderline men who murdered their female partners, it's frightening but common. Anyway, I like that song but I think the message of the song was that Stan was simply an obsessed fan, whatever was wrong with him mentally was not specific to the song, but now that you mention it I guess the song does imply that he had BPD. Have you heard the Eminem song Love The Way You Lie? I think the male character in that song is definitely portrayed to be borderline.

I know prisons are full with male borderlines, but not every borderline is violent. However, many of us are obsessed with unanswered texts or phone calls; many would freak out and get angry with a person ignoring them, many go from admiration to hatred. Plus, Stan self harms.

I never thought about it in that light before! But now as I recall the video, seems to me that's pretty likely!

I probably should have clarified this but most borderline men in prison probably have a few antisocial features as well, classic BPDs would be more inclined to harm or kill themselves, but traits of ASPD in a borderline man creates a high potential for violence. In fact, male patient+ Borderline PD+ Antisocial features= the highest potential for extreme violence against others, I've read that in multiple books and research papers. Two good examples would be John Wayne Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer. Stan in the Eminem song is probably a good example of that type of personality since he killed his girlfriend but only killed himself accidentally.
