Right, but that was not Cloninger Focus either. His theory is more focused on a biological perspective.

Like we were discussing reward dependence would be a temperamental(genetic) trait associated with noradranergic activity.
Sentimentality (RD1)
Openness to warm communication or social sensitivity (RD2)
Attachment (RD3)
Dependence on approval by others (RD4)

Now Cooperativeness is a character trait marked by
Social acceptance vs. intolerance (C1)
Empathy vs. social disinterest (C2)
Helpfulness vs. unhelpfulness (C3)
Compassion vs. revengefulness (C4)
Principles vs. self-advantage (C5)

You're right CN.

I'm reading up on Cloninger in wikipedia now. Of course, just a brief overview, but you're right, his theory is based on genetics.

That would explain why certain PDs tend to run into families also.

I think genetic is assumed when they compare identical twins to common brother ans sister( dizigotic twins to be more precise).

Many psychological traits are passed by parents to children merely to education and caregiving.

For instance if a twin is introverted lets say they find a 90% of chance the other is introverted, while the common brother has only a 60% chance. With that data they can know how much genetics play a role.
