Does yoour guys BPD get even worse when you are menstruating?

Mine seems too. I am already to emotionally unstable than once a month I get to be "hormonally imbalanced" to boot!

Sucks.

Yes. What happens when I'm about to get my period is that I suddenly start thinking of every single negative thing that's happened to me and I can't shake those thoughts. I go for a run, and still, I'm engulfed by negative thoughts and memories. As for other PMS symptoms, yes I get them, badly. When I went on the pill, they lessened, it was lovely, but I still had the same borderline stuff to live with.

YES! I was having a melt down today and I just figured out that it's almost my time of the month so now it makes sense. This happens every month. I get horrible cramps and pains as well. I used to be on the pill but it made my BPD 100x worse. I tried many kinds and they all did the same thing to me.

i have no official dxes of any sort... but yeah my problems get worse before my period, lol and as ive tried to help myself more, my PMS has got better too! before that i used to find magnesium supplements helped with premenstrual depression - i think stress can deplete magnesium supplies, and BPD usually=stress! i still take them if my stress levels get way out of control any particular month. just thought id mention it in case any of you find that helps :)

I'm a female NON, and my ex b/f BPD would get worse when I was menstruating. Every problem he was having, every bad thing he was feeling was all due to me being pre-menstrual. Believe me I'm not that bad! Mostly I breeze through my period, but very occasionally, every 3 months or so I do suffer the symptoms of pre-menstrual syndrome. But every month my BPD ex would go weird! When we first started seeing each other, he stated he was going to see me when I was pre-menstrual because he couldn't cope with the monster I became......maybe he couldn't cope with the 'monster' he became, and was trying to protect me from that? I always knew that his 'disappearing acts' were to do with him having symptoms he couldn't control and couldn't hide from me....(he is so in denial it is unbelievable). I think he saw my time of the month as a way out, an excuse, that he could react/act any way he wanted and could turn it all around as being my fault.

Any views guys?

I, personally, maintain the concept of a male period.

No blood, but my bfs always seem to have a time of month when they act... off...

Just an observation. All guys seem to do it... and if he did it during your cycle... well... not uncommon for cycles to sync up.

Yep! that's why I'm on the pill for 3 month batches....so I only get 4 periods a year. When I'm bad, throw in hormones and you might as well throw me off a bridge. I don't want to keep doing it for long though - if things are going OK over the summer, I might try cutting down to the recommended monthly cycle.....and see how it goes. Weighing up the health risks - being on the pill for over 10 years might not be great for me later on in life, but it keeps me alive to reach that point!

It might be helpful to mark your expected dates on a calendar or somewhere you can see them, a month in advance. Then if you find yourself feeling worse "for no reason", you can be reminded of the reason and it might stop the downward spiral before it gets too much of a stronghold.

funny... I just got my period yesterday. I had been particularly moody and anxious. and really really tired, so I napped. but actually, I feel pretty emotionally numb right now. which is as close as it gets to normal. maybe i'll flip out tomorrow.. who know
