I think you've got a bad case of getting healthy ;)

Just because I try hard to recover doesn't mean I want to be "just like everyone else." I don't! Maybe most people love XXX candidate. Well, unless it agree with his/her views, I still won't. I just don't get into arguments about politics anymore. Life is too short for drama.

I am amazed at how I now dislike drama.

It's amazing how worked up "healthy" people can get over these things though. Sometimes they make me feel pretty damn grounded and sane!

Healthy people fear what they don't understand, like everyone.
We aren't quite understood, so differences scare them.

I'm the communist in the family...
Hippie Communism, to be exact.
Try being a Hippie in a Southern White Trash / Mexican family.
Neither side;s really happy with me.

Thanks, SmileXx! I remember doing that too, wearing a shapeshifter suit everywhere...I'm still trying to put the pieces together. I'm glad that you have been able to do this! :)

Tell you what, though: I'm SO glad that I did the personality inventory and finally started to separate what's mine from what isn't mine. And I'm incredibly thankful that you and the others are here, supporting me. Yesterday, I saw my mother. In an effort to "help" me, she wrote a 10-page letter to a pseudo-psychologist, detailing her version of the "facts" and problems of my entire life. She was so excited to show me his response (it was essentially a lengthy horoscope). I asked her to let me read the letter she originally sent. Talk about painting an unflattering picture! The guy is a freaking magazine editor/contributor of some kind. And she sent him all my "dirty laundry", including my full name and date and time of birth!

So I'm very glad that I "vaccinated" myself in the last couple of weeks by coming to terms with my positive qualities as well as my shortcomings. Had I not done this, her letter and the skewed "facts" in it would have likely devastated me.

I agree, and these days it makes me laugh.

I'm really impressed that you did your research and genuinely considered the other side.

I try my hardest to not look down on anyone for their views, though I may disagree with them. Like Alpha, I don't like drama. I enjoy civilized discussion and controlled debate, though.

I feel for the folks who get ripped apart for their beliefs. SmileXx, it can not possibly be easy for you. I respect you and the others who stick by their convictions.
