Managing the mood swings

Postby Holly3278 » Tue Feb 03, 2009 3:13 am

Hi everyone. How do you manage your mood swings? I have borderline personality disorder and my mood swings are often frequent and sometimes severe. I also have major depression and anxiety disorder. I currently take Lexapro, Abilify, and Wellbutrin XL. Could my doctor prescribe me additional medication to control my mood swings? :?:

Hi, Holly3278! I'm sorry about the late reply. You could try to talk to someone who cares and ask them to give you a little pep talk, maybe, when you have your mood swings. It could be a friend or you could post about it here and get it off your chest. Maybe you could do something that relaxes you and keeps your focused as well. Sorry this isn't much help.

hello,

I manage my mood swings with a lot of logic.
But even then it does not take away the feeling.

so- I take all the meds except Abilify, I take Seroquel.
There is nothing else like it. (no generic) and it is expensive as hell, But I have been on it for 5 yrs and life is much easier on it.

I stopped taking it once, big mistake.
You can control this disorder, medication helps alot.
Sometimes I even catch myself with so silly thought and I say to myself "gosh that was so bpd. LOL :D

I hoped this helped. I try to stay upbeat as much as possible.

Peace.

Thanks everyone! I talked to my doctor yesterday about going on a mood stabilizer and he increased my Lexapro to 30 mg. He said that should help with my moods.
