i am wondering if anyone knows anything about the quiet borderline. i have read that they are the same as the typical borderline minus the violent rages. instead of letting it out they keep it all bottled up. i am not sure but i think i may have symptoms of borderline but i have never had rages. how would i know? i have never been diagnosed. but, i seem to have great difficulties in simple things supposed normal people do not have problems with. example: relationships, jobs, abandonment, isolating myself at times, i have disassociated on 3 or 4 occasions and i am terrified of getting older. i think my mother had symptoms of histrionic or borderline. i feel like my life is passing me by. is anyone in this forum a quiet borderline?

Hi,
I believe that you are trying to define BPD too much here. I mean, not everyone's life-history is the same and, therefore, their present state of mind will also differ. For example, if you have two people who are born with BPD but who end up living very different lives, they may appear very different from each other but they still will always have BPD.
Look at the other symptoms of BPD and see how they fit you overall. If you feel that BPD's overall description defines you the best, then go with it. You will most likely never find a disorder that is going to define you 100%.
Take care,
Kevin
