new form of self torture?

Postby proverbialgirl » Wed Sep 17, 2008 3:49 am

Ya know, I probably shouldn't go to the NPD board to work out my NPD parent issues... I post, my post gets hijaked, and my comments are not responded to. Feels oddly.... familiar. Makes me want to go balastic on their board - which I'm proud that I have not done. Yet. Not that they'd care... I feel invisible. gack.

Surprisingly, there aren't that many people with NPD who use the NPD Forum. It is more occupied by partners of people with NPD who have suffered years of abuse at the hands of the person with NPD (just like you). Anyway, you're not invisible - I see you.

Take care,
Kevin

I really didn't have it bad. I mostly had a confusing childhood. My mom (NP) was also a workaholic/business owner. My dad just popped in and out of my life randomly. When I was a kid he would make plans to keep me over the weekends and then not show up or call for weeks or months.

Anyway, you're not invisible - I see you.

Thank you. I've been a bit "wiggy" lately so I'm hypersensitive.

'Wiggy' is a word that I have never seen before in my life. I have heard of 'wiggle' and 'wig-wam', but never 'wiggy'. You just made it up on the spot, right?

LOL, I don't think I made it up, I've been saying it for years - but I don't know anyone else who really says it. I guess it comes from wiggle but it describes an internal state for me... dysphoric - when I generally feel bad (anxious, depressed, & apathetic all at once)

Hey, I got a prescription for Xanax - have you ever used it? If so, how does it make you feel? I scared to use it but I made plans with my friend for tomorrow night and there's a good chance I'll bail out without some sedation.

Hello again,

I have never used Xanax, nor do I know anyone who has already used it. My advice is to just take it as your doctor ordered. I mean - seriously - don't play around with these things because they can really mess you up. Also, if you're not supposed to drink alcoholic beverages while taking Xanax, then DON'T. Alcohol + medication = 'very bad'.
