Heya,

Would you say that you take everything too seriously? Like, even when someone makes a joke about you, do you get very angry about it? I am like that too. In fact, I'm pretty much like everything you have written here. Im' just curious though: Why did you come to the BPD forum? Did you look up symptoms about it and relate them to yourself or had you heard of it previously?

Basically, what you're describing points to a low self-esteem, and it's causing you to feel paranoid about, well, just about everything. It's vital that you get help with this, especially considering that you are thinking suicidally. Did you tell your mam about these thoughts? - If so, did she believe you?

Many people will attempt to brush mental-health issues 'under the carpet' for as long as they can. Perhaps this is what your mother is doing right now. She has to know that your problems are genuine and serious though. Tell her that you are very worried about your future, unless you get help for what is currently happening to you. You don't necessarily need therapy though - A visit to your local doctor should suffice at first.

Yeah, I was talking to a friend of mine and she told me about it, so I looked it up and such.
Yeah I suppose you could say I take things too seriously... but I don't know.
My mom doesn't know anything really about it, I mentioned it once or twice but she only gets angry about it when I say anything.
And I don't really like talking to her anyway...

I had the exact same problem with my mother, but I wrote-out a list of my symptoms and gave it to her. She hung-onto the list and eventually started to look them up in her own time. I'm terrible at talking and expressing myself to people, so, whenever I need to explain my feelings to my family, I write them a note.

you are describing pretty much how i felt when i first began showing signs of BPD. i wasn't diagnosed until i was 20, but many symptoms, like anger, cutting, suicidal ideation had been in me since years before my disgnosis.

i was abused emotionally by my dad- he pulled a knife on my sister as well, and i witnessed that. was scared of him to point i couldn't go near him. even now i don't want to spend too much time with him and am scared of not doing what he wants.

Do you still live with your father, MelonBall? I have had big 'bust-ups' with my father too but I am now friendly with him. In fact, for the first time in my life, I can actually say that I know who my father is. People change, I guess, and that includes not just them but you and I also.
