I was discussing this with a fellow bpd and he said, there are no positives.
he pointed out that bpd is an illness and many illnesses dont have positives.
we have this urge to think bpd gives us superpowers. if anything bpd and over thinking has made my life exhausting.
exhausted

Splitting makes it easier for me to cut people out when they aren't treating me well and/or when there are red flags.
I know that's considered a bad thing to other people, but I've had enough experiences with people to know to trust myself in this case, that it's not just my paranoia, and that I would rather be alone than stick around people who don't treat me well.

I think there's some minor positives to the disorder.
For instance paranoia helps me be on guard and alert to threats outside so I'm more aware of my surroundings.
There's probably more but I can't think of them at the moment

It certainly stops life being boring. I'm always re-inventing myself.
