Hm yeah this is a pretty interesting article. Maybe people with BPD really are more inclined towards critical and negative thought processes when it comes to experiences than people with just depression. Also, BPD affects men and women differently.

In women, the left amygdala is overactive which means internalized thoughts are much more impactful on self perception and emotions. In men, the right amygdala is overactive which means environmental factors are especially influential. So although the study/experiment only used women it would be interesting to see if there are similar occurrences in men.
