This is a simple one. If you have a dissociative disorder comorbid with BPD, feel free to vote anyway.

Can we define what dissociation is in this poll? I'm always having trouble to tell if I'm dissociating or simply staring off into nothing.
People are horrible people.

I have a difficult time keeping lengthy conversation going because of this. When someone is talking with me, if they go past about a minute without me being an active participant, I start to "drift". The words they're saying do not register any longer, even if I am holding direct eye contact. I try to force myself to hear the words they're saying, and it gets more muddied because I start to get anxious. People think I don't listen to them because of this. I'm constantly asking, "What did you say?" because I genuinely didn't hear what they said. I mean.. I hear it, but it sounds like a different language. :?
