bpd and bipolar

Does anyone have bpd and bipolar?

I have both and am currently on a lot of meds for my bipolar. I just started an intensive inpatient program for bpd.

It's sometimes hard to tell what is from being borderline and what is from bipolar. I know some borderlines have bipolar. That makes it hard with meds and management. My pdoc says the antipsychotic and mood stabilizers will help with bpd too, but I take them for both.

I was diagnosed with BPD in 2013.. about 4 months ago I went back to my psychiatrist as I was convinced I had bipolar too but she dismissed it straight away, explaining to me that to be bipolar I would have to have high's and low's that last longer than my current ones do now. I can literally be high for 10 mins right now and then low within an instant x

I don't have bipolar disorder, but I'm guessing if a mood episode seems to come out of nowhere, as in no environmental triggers, that may be your bipolar rather than your BPD.
