Thanks for the reply. I guess maybe it could be both, I think experience both types of paranoia and upset. Like when I was paying for the appointment after it ended, the receptionist smiled at me, and I thought she looked malicious somehow. It's hard to tell what type of paranoia that is, or if maybe I was even correct about her.
You are welcome
Sometimes I think I "read" negative facial expressions or body language where there is none, also.
How many sessions have you had with your doctor? Did she want to diagnose you with a Axis 1 right away?
This is just my layperson opinion, but I have a feeling it may take longer to diagnose someone with an Axis 2 disorder. I think sometimes it takes a long time for the doctor to really get that deep into the person's psyche to know all that is going on. I think. Whereas Axis 1 disorders can be diagnosed in the first session, and medications can be prescribed right away.
That has been my experience, anyways. I show up for one appointment and get an Axis 1 dx and meds right away. But deeper, personality issues may take much longer to come to light during therapy, I think. Just my opinion, anyways. If there is a PD and she has longer to get to know you, then it may come to be that she detects it and diagnoses it. Possibly.
Well I warned her, I told her that I think I have it, so she better not be mad at me when it starts coming out lol.
