Hu, I'm new here. I'm sorry- I haven't really had a chance to browse old posts. I was just wondering how many people on here that suffer from BPD have children? How do you relate? How to you interact with your children, and what do you do on your worst days? Do you think you are a good parent? Do you feel having BPD makes it hard to be a good parent? Thanks in advance!

My BPD anger issues have had a negative effect on how my daughter and I relate to one another. It is especially unfortunate because I am effectively a single parent, her mother is relatively uninvolved in her life, so I'm all she's got. On my worst days we used to avoid each other. I'm getting better at emotional self-regulation, so my bad days are now much less common.
If I have a weakness other than emotional swings, its that I don't expect enough of her and don't enforce compliance with expectations enough.
