Kontroller, Olson, anyone....

People sometimes get really annoyed with me because I know I'm very clever and I let them know about it. I just can't stand to be around stupid people. I often like very intellectual conversations (i.e. political, economical etc). I have lived or travelled in many different countries and my general knowledge is very good (english is not my first language).

Am I just being narcissistic here (my dad and youngest sister suffer from Asperger's syndrome and yes, they're really clever in their own ways!)? Or is this just my BPD?

Hi Sarina.

This doesn't sound like a bpd issue to me.

Not everyone is going to be intellectual, of course. That is a gift.
But if they do annoy you.........then the obvious is to try to control your outbursts, if any in front of them about it.

It is normal is most cases for those who are overly educated to resume conversations with those of their intellectual level. I personally would rather learn a little about alot than alot about alittle. And listen to anyones' point of view. Many of the best conversations I've had have been with people not "book" smart, but street smart.

happy holidays.
