what am i?

Postby freakier_darkali » Wed Oct 25, 2006 2:42 pm

im actually driving myself round the bend. So i have recently been told i have dissociative identity disorder but for a long time before people have often thought i was a borderline. I have researched for years reading everything about bdp and yes i display all of the right signs significantly. But you cant be did and bdp at the same time right? I was never abused as a child so how i can be did is a confusing time. I am so confused driving my partner crazy he cant handle my i hate you please dont leave me thing. He thinks i need to be hospitalized but the psychiatrist doesnt think so although he only knows a fraction of things about me. What do i do? Im getting awfully depressed and im seriously wanting to bang my head against the brick wall over and over and over................ please someone help

Hi, you would know if you were DID. You would have alters doing things, that you might remember, you might not. They might know eachother , they might not, They may have names, they might not "yet"/

Bpd is loss of self. Both are caused from abuse, but the affects are different, and usually bpd is more about abandonment, rejection, neglect. DID is usually from extreme physical and emotional trauma.

I hope we can talk more................

You could have a dissociation issue.

this can happen with bpd.

have you ever been dx'd with ptsd?

Have you ever been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Freakier?

i want to bang my head into the wall also! i feel like everyone in my life would be happy if I did that (though that is irrational thinking, i still feel it). I don't know why i would want to hurt myself to please others. do you feel that way too?

That's what DD was asking you.

Perhaps DD is referring to a traumatizing event which you may not remember?
