Sucks for you then.

But it's not about you. Lesson #1 of having BPD: Not everything is about you.

If meds and talking to people work for you, great! I just wish it was that easy for others...

What are you gonna do, or what have you been doing to make it by then if you have no hope?

Lesson #1... It is.

Understand that most BPD's go on to actually living a "normal" life. They may have a wife/husband, kids. Family. Support system, etc...

The EASY life. The FAKE BPD's, as I call them.

I have a 12 Gauge shotgun that will deliver me peace, should I need it to.

Family? None.

Friends? None.

Kids? None.

Wife? None.

I haven't had a visitor for literally years. NONE. Not one.

Keep talking about the "light,"... I am giving you the end result.

Actually I don't talk about the light. I only asked you that because I wanted some insight from someone who was coming from a more real perspective than some others I have seen on video and in person. I have been down that road of no return but I found that I didn't really want to die I just wanted to get rid of my brain and get a new one. Anyways I guess if I live with this for 30 years plus i will probably have the same feelings as you. My only way of truly surviving is distractions and not feeling which means no outside stimulation to conjure up what ifs or what could have been.

Also I'm sure you don't care at this point but the mentioning how you're gonna do something is an easy way to be in handcuffs and in a mental hospital taking shots in the ass. Maybe that's what you want, i don't know.

Thank you. That is all I want, is understanding that sometimes things do not get better, even after 20 years.

IMO, living a normal and fulfilling life is not fake BPD. Kudos to the ones who accomplish it, and i think its definitely possible to do so (as long as it really is real and the person doesnt just internalize everything).

Even though BPD is difficult to treat, it also depends a lot on the person's strength, wish to recover, self awarness, and resilience. One thing i am sure of - it is not a life sentence. Also, because its a spectrum disorder - some people have a harder time than others. But generally i really think there is hope for everyone - especially because it doesn't get treated with meds.

I am happy for you, truly, that you can live a normal life with this.

I have not been able to.

And it does reflect in some of my posts. I don't mean to be edgy, or angsty. I simply have lived with a defective brain for a long, long time.

It also often lashes out the hardest to the ones I love the most, so take that as you will.

To be fair we do get shafted by doctors.

I was told recently it's incurable because you can't change your personality as it is who you are. However you can help yourself.

However, medication does smooth things out. Olanzapine reduces voices, paranoia and anger and Fluoxetine reduces depression and anxiety.

I'm a Therapist and the truth is, BPD is the diagnosis most people in the field absolutely detest. I came into this field to work with pwBPD, people like myself, so I was very taken aback by the way others in the field reacted. The person who said its annoyance, not fear is absolutely correct. BPD does not respond quickly to medication like acute Schizophrenia or Bipolar. BPD takes extended time in therapy (YEARS) which in today's managed care system, is time that therapists just really aren't given (8-15 sessions). BPD isn't covered by many insurance companies (this is why many have a difficult time getting the diagnosis in the first place). If a doctor can't bill for it, then they won't give you the disgnosis or they just won't treat you altogether. Above all, many have experienced splitting from a pwBPD and it's something that drives therapists/psychiatrists insane. One minute you're bff's, the next minute you're Satan. Many just simply don't have the patience, empathy or sympathy to have to walk on eggshells with their client and never know who they're going to get from session to session. From talking to colleagues about it, the disconnect seems to be in misunderstanding the motives of pwBPD.
