Debt =[

Postby MuddyWaters » Wed Oct 01, 2014 7:03 pm

Anyone have any personal advice on dealing with debt? Financially I know I can sort out the hole I'm in although it'll take years of being in my 20s living back with my parents, but how to sleep at night and just deal with the anxiety?!

I don't have any idea how you can deal with the debt. But the way I do things is: I will get paid and I put aside some money to save and spend what is left. Not the other way around. Do you think this might help?

Been dealing with this the last couple of months. I almost almost was evicted.

I guess the first step is to take back control. Make an overview of EVERYTHING. Then don't leave any mail closed (this only increases the anxiety), but open and archive . Contact debters and explain your situation.

You might not solve your debt situation directly with these actions, but when you at least have the feeling you are in CONTROL, then this gives you peace of mind.

Insomnia can be a tough one when you have so much to deal with. But worrying about what might happen tomorrow will only add to the emotional load of today. Think: we have little power over what may develop tomorrow, good or bad. But we can take measures to deal with the present.
Easier said than done? Absolutely! By focusing on the present and its problems, you can remove all kinds of stress.
Ask yourself: ‘What do I fear most? How likely is it that this fear will become a reality? How much energy do I expend worrying about what may or may not happen?’ See how the anxiety just becomes an additional problem? So it's best just to take one day at a time. And also it is amazing how your circumstances can even eventually change...

i deal with debt in this way. #1 I only buy needs. #2 I save for wants #3 After needs bought use whats left over to put on debt. It has worked for years for me.
As for shutting your mind down so you can sleep, i cant help. I have to take meds to shut my mind off so i can sleep.

Do a list of all your outgoings:

    Rent/mortgage
    Gas
    Electric
    Food
    Pets
    Car
    Fuel
    Credit cards
    Bank loans

Look at your incomings....... Prioritise bills. Rent/mortgage, gas, electric should be priority.
