I've seen some people with a full-blown psychosis.

They generally believed inconsistent, blatantly easy to falsify stuff. On one hand, say, persecutory delusions are unpleasant, but stopping to believe them unconditionally leaves one with how their life sucks and then they're lost with so much distress, that relapsing isn't that bad of a result...

It's bad for anyone to second-guess their thoughts, dreams, ideas, etc. and blaming oneself for them. One thing's not losing judgement, but TOO MUCH self-control is even worse! The resulting anxiety skyrockets, then it gets worse.

I had to look up the word hallucination and think about this. Hallucination is defined as: 1.
a sensory experience of something that does not exist outside the mind, caused by various physical and mental disorders, or by reaction to certain toxic substances, and usually manifested as visual or auditory images.
2.
the sensation caused by a hallucinatory condition or the object or scene visualized.
3.
a false notion, belief, or impression; illusion; delusion.... Now the question is: what is the difference between hallucinations and delusions?

They're distinct. One of two criteria to satisfy the definition of a psychosis. There's also thought disorder, but that's a murky matter.

You definition of hallucination is bad. For it to be a hallucination, it has to be perceived as (unconditionally, more or less) real by the person. It's perfectly healthy to hear stuff when falling asleep and waking up. There's the difference with a hallucination and natural sleep state.

All the time. I've literally referred to myself as "perfect" and "on a higher intellectual plane" than my friends and family members - TO my friends and family. Physically, I'm attractive but I'm far from perfect - my BPD makes sure of that. And I'm decently smart but by no means a genius. Hell, I'm not even sure if this post is grammatically correct. I also fancy myself to be quite the charmer - an "I can literally have whoever I want" type attitude. I guess my grandiose delusions are pretty mild since I can reflect on them later on and laugh at how absolutely ridiculous they are. TBH, though ... sometimes I kind of like them. It's very rare for me to feel confident so those bursts of self assurance, despite them being false, let me feel like a super hero for a little while.

I feel like this most of the time  But it's not like it cracks me up if I loose that clown-like character. Noo.
Totally fine with it either way. (Splitting?)

They're not delusions. I'm going to become the most well-respected neuropharmacologist in the field of psychosis studies.

Is it stressful feeling like that all the time? Usually after I go through the super hero phase I go through an equally powerful opposite phase where I'm abashed that I ever thought of myself so highly in the first place. I guess that's what I meant by finding the delusions comical - cause after a certain point it's like "Ha! Thought you almost liked yourself there for a minute, didn't ya? Let's fix that up real quick. A heaping pile of shame and guilt will do it!" I think I could do without the second half
