Too nice

Postby JustinB113 » Thu Jul 18, 2013 3:24 pm

Have you ever been labelled "too nice"?

It's happened to me a bit. I don't understand it. If someone said I'm really nice, or so nice, or very nice, it's surely a compliment. But too nice is obviously a personal criticism.

So how do you go from too nice to very nice. What are people expecting? If I walk in tomorrow, say a curt hello and go sit across the other side from the room, they'd think something was wrong with me.

Can you change someone else perception of you after it is already made? And what is too nice anyway, surely that is a good thing.

i think its ok to be nice but i'm tired of people and the hypocrites, if you think i'm nice, then be nice to me

people tell me, oh you're nice and next day they'll say some crap..thus i'd rather be strong than nice

Yes, people have called me too nice. I'm not sure, honestly. Perhaps "too nice" means being a people pleaser, whereas "nice" is just being courteous. That's what I think anyways. And perhaps the way to change it would be instead of always wanting to help people, perhaps be friendly without bending over backwards for them, if that's what you do. I know that's my problem.
