How bad of an idea is it to date someone that you met on the psych ward?

Well... you've given alot of information. Though using a psych ward as a dating venue is not exactly a good thing, nor is it healthy, if that's what your asking?

Though if you met this person there, and were friends for a while, and you both have been working to get healthy, then maybe it wouldn't be as bad.

I'm trying to give more information because I'll convince myself that it's okay. I don't want to make myself sicker. He's bipolar and got admitted for psychosis. Nothing against bipolar people but that's pretty foreign to someone who just attempts suicide. I like him obviously but I don't want this to just be another BPD symptom.
Idk anything

You do realize you cant completely medicate a bipolar from not having a fluctuation in mood...you can lessen it but can not rid it

and you realize every time hes manic or depressed he will trigger you?! not good

Here are some questions I thought of to help you figure this out:
Do you feel like you want to date him because you've gotten to know him and like what you know? Or is the attraction to him "just another BPD symptom"?
Think of what a healthy relationship would look like to you. What kind of relationship scenario would make you happy? What are you looking for? Does it seem like he can give you this happiness and are you both in the right place (in the emotional sense) to have such a relationship?
What's the best thing and worst thing that can happen if you date him?
What's the best thing and worst thing that can happen if you don't?

Hope this helps :) Good luck, hope things work out to you both.
