BPD & ADHD, am i alone?

Postby gt2lvdepp » Tue Apr 30, 2013 8:46 pm

Has anyone ever been diagnosed with BPD after using prescribed Adderall for ADHD/ADD?

If so, how do you think this may have affected your experience with BPD/symptoms?

You arent alone. I have BPD and ADD. While I was enrolled in college I felt the only way to focus was to take Adderall. The double edge sword was that the Add. heightened my BPD while offsetting my focus deficiencies. Talk about a tough trade off! I no longer take medication for my ADD. It simply wasnt worth the hell I was putting my family (and myself) through.

I have BPD and ADHD. I was on a generic Adderall for a while, however it gave me a very rapid heartbeat, muscle spasms and other painful things (sad thing was, it worked too).

Now I'm on no meds for anything. So no, you aren't alone.

Wow, that's interesting... I have BPD & ADHD also, and was on Ritalin, but it gave me ridiculous heart palpitations and after a hospital visit my doc took them away from me. I actually felt like the Ritalin worked but the side effects were too much for me.

Then I took two years off of medication and self-medicated by becoming a full on alcoholic. Not advised since it has done more destruction to my life than anything I did dealing with BPD & ADHD.

But you are not alone!
