Highly intuitive/hypnopompic/prophetic dreams.

Postby Rikku » Fri Mar 22, 2013 5:16 pm

I was surprised to read that many of the BPD here are highly intuitive about people, I am very intuitive I can see whenever someone is lying or faking no matter how hard they try to hide it, I can also sense what they think about me. I'm also hypnopompic- been having out of body experiences and astral travel.

My question is, have any of you had prophetic dreams? I had quite a few, from silly to serious and they become true the very next day most of the time. I dreamed that my dog got a fishing hook stuck in his lip, the next day I was outside with him and had a really bad feeling-then there was a bee and before I could shoo it away it bit him on the lip. Another one - I was dreaming that when I came to my driving school I was told " Opps, sorry we forgot to put on the schedule, would you mind waiting about half an hour?"- the next day that's exactly what happened. I dreamed one night that my sister was assaulted by her b/f ( and he was never violent towards her, I didn't like the guy though). In the morning I call my mom and tell her about my dream, in detail- she told me that's exactly what happened- the very night I dreamed it. Those are just few examples, any of you have those?

No, I haven't had those dreams but I AM highly 'clued up' on people as to whether they're lying or faking it or not.

I know it's no help and I just wanted to comment to say that those dreams sound really really scary for you to have and I'm sorry you have them. Ok, they sound silly at the time, but to have them happen the same day after you've dreamt them, EXACTLY the same way as you dreamt them? Geez, that must be quite freaky for you.

Have you ever spoken to a professional about any of this?

She writes on her arm, wants to give up her life.

I just told my psychiatrist about my out of body experiences- specifically this one: I woke up in my bathroom, thinking hmm what am I doing here? then I move to my living room while I move-realizing I am not walking but floating in the air.I can see my living room clearly even the time on the digital clock. I freaked out. Then something started spinning me in the air really fast , I was terrified and it threw me into a wall, i remember thinking "ouch, it's going to hurt!" But it didn't..I was so terrified and I am not religious but I started praying and asking angels and all that is divine for help. I saw a flash of yellow light and found myself on my bed, unable to move and someone whispered something in my ear..I couldn't understand what it said. I had quite a few of those. Sometimes i would feel like I'm zapped by electricity and the voice would say "You know I love you". When I had a roomate strange things would happen after I would have one of those dreams, ceiling lamps would explode to small pieces while no one was in the room, water leaks that came out of nowhere.

As for prophetic dreams, I don't get freaked out anymore, i'm used to it. thankfully it doesn't happen often. I didn't tell the doc about it because I was afraid they'll think I'm crazy.

My psy said I was prolly hypnagogic, or rather hypnopompic since those occur when I wake up.

More than that...I had a dream about a man I could see his face clearly and he was helping me in that dream. A week later I had my first appointment with a psychiatrist at a new clinic, I came about half an hour earlier and the door was closed. I knocked and a man opened the door and told me that the clinic is still closed but that I could wait inside, he seemed very nice. That was the man in my dream...then I saw the psychiatrist..and he referred me to whom? that very man, the psychologist who diagnosed me.

I know it all sounds crazy but it's true and I need to let it out.

I have had prophetic dreams several times in my life. It's difficult because, for me anyways, I don't know that they are prophetic until something happens a short while later that is exactly what I dreamed about. I wish I was aware that they were prophetic sometimes so that I could take some action to either prevent or prepare for when the thing I dreamed about occurs.

Ohh I never know in advance either...I only know they were prophetic after they came true. And I have so many dreams that there;s no distinguishing between prophetic and non...I just know they are when they come true. One thing though..and it's something I didn't dream about but had a gut feeling I couldn't explain: I was in college and told my b/f at the time " I'm not going to class tomorrow", he asked why, I said I didn't know. He woke me up the next day, on the news there was a shooting in my college, the shooter started fire at the time I usually hang out outside ( lunch time) , at the place I usually smoke...

my sis was studying there too. I went there asap. When i got there he was still shooting..and all i could think of..is my sis. We only heard from her very late that night, she hid in someone's house across the street. See I had no dream about that one but something told me not to go.

Wow, that sounds really scary! I'm glad that you and your sister are both okay.

Yes, thankfully yes. I dropped out of my program after that not sure if it was because of the shooting or other stuff I had in my life, i guess both. Dawson college shooting if you haven;t heard about it.
