Just wondering what form of treatment people consider to be the most effective.
New evidence points back to new forms of psychodynamic therapy being helpful (see link). What are your thoughts on this?

it seems to me there is something to psychodynamic therapy. there's a psychologist at the university of denver who's advocated this position already.
http://www.apsa.org/portals/1/docs/news/JonathanShedlerStudy20100202.pdfThe read is very interesting, and despite the results being based only on two studies, they are quite dramatic in terms of efficacy--notably when compared with that off DBT therapy and prescription drugs.

I'm in a TC which is based on psychodynamic model. Very powerful healing experience for BPD.
Shedler article explains really well - thanks for that.

I was in psycho-dynamic therapy for several years as a youngster. The therapist was like a mother, as well as being technically brilliant. I saw her three times a week and paid what I could afford. She left food outside my apartment when she thought I needed it. She's in her 70's now, semi-retired, lives on a small farm some distance from the city. Clients still travel to see her. A few years ago I went out there and built a gate for her hot-house. She greeted me like I was her son when I arrived. Needless to say I wept like a child!

I am giving psychodynamic therapy a try this time around. I've only had two sessions, and so far he is the most peaceful!
I have found that if I find the source of a problem, the problem goes away. It can be as magical as "poof!" gone as soon as I figure out the puzzle. This has happened time and time again in my life. So! I should try a therapist who specializes in that type of therapy.

in order to prove anny methode to be effective you need a dubble blind test
with a large number of ppl
that is never been done
so there is no real prove that therapy actualy works
time and meds can perhaps do the same thing
ppl that just take the time to listen
imo anny therapy can be effective if you have the right person doing it (even alternative therapy)
but some thing problebe need to be medicated
