So today I was waiting in line at the campus cafeteria, wishing I could have caught the eye of the midget who had just passed by me, when a black guy behind me out of the blue said something to the effect of, "you seem like a very focused serious person. like your really motivated. You dress rather simply, you don't wear make up, your not flashy but you seem like you know where you want to go in life." I was, as you would imagine, very surprised and didn't really know how to react. At first I thought he was just flattering me as a way to hit on me but I now I don't think so; I think he was just giving me a genuine compliment or something like one. I had no idea of what to say so I hooked on to the make up stament (good one) and started jabbering on about how I had thought about wearing it but just hadn't taken the time to purchase any and learn how to apply it yet. I came off rather ditzy I'm oretty sure. It would have been way cooler if I pretended the lack of make up was me making a statement or something, but then that wouldn't have been totally honest. I mean he was right in the respect that I'm motivated right now. For my geography course I plan to read the entire text book. Anyway, when my sandwhich was ready we parted and I'll probably never see him again. But it was such an odd interaction I thought I'd blog about it. :p
