What to do when Hearing Voices and seeing Visions

First off let me start out by saying is that I am well experienced with having mental illness. I recently completed my seventeenth trip to a mental hospital( not all trips totally needed and something I hope to write a piece about). Everything from severe suicidal depression to severe schizophrenia to not thinking anything was real to severe anxiety and almost everything in between(including bipolar) I can generally relate to a lot of people who have different forms of mental-illness. Again if you are new to all this, either as one having it or have someone you love who is dealing with this, keep in mind it is nothing you ask to have and in most cases this not only a mental-illness it effects us physically very intensely as well.
For this article I will address what to do when hearing voices and seeing visions and how to handle them. If you can get professional help do make that a first option. A therapist can help but generally will refer you to a psychiatrist with this condition and a lot of times an ant-psychotic medication will be prescribed. See the danger in hearing voices and seeing visions can be a lot of times they tell you to do something harmful to yourself or someone else. Now will you need to be hospitalized for this condition? Sometimes yes and yes it is a very hard adjustment to be in a mental hospital or psych-ward but in my experience from what I have seen and have witnessed others going through and it can be the best solution( Especially if yours or someone elses lives are in danger) Now if your totally opposed to this solution find a way to be your own spokesperson and include as many people who support your viewpoint. See if have a lot of responsibilities, being an in-patient is going to throw off your life in a very big way. Again do the most to speak for yourself and work with the professionals to see if doing out-patient therapy can be the first option.
So now that you hear voices and see visions and it is something that makes you uncomfortable, this is a simple method that will help you deal with them. Now the first and only voices you should respond to is your own and actual other real people. Not any voice or vision that isn't real( meaning a voice or vision that no one else can hear or see) Now if you believe in God or are an artist, a voice or vision may inspire you to do something really good( I can't tell you to stay away from that) I am talking about the voice or vision that controls you and in most cases causes you to do something bad. STAY AWAY FROM THESE. Listen to the people around you, answer your phone and text messages and of course your emails. A good practice is if you are suffering from these try to take a day off. Stay home( don't drive for a day if you can) and get used to this practice. You will find that a little practice goes a long way.
I hope this writing was helpful and please feel free to respond with any questions or comments. All the best neg2pos.

Is it Possible? YES

Is it Possible? YES

So what is it that is possible? Right to the point. What I am saying is possible is that the deep amount of sadness and depression you are presently in can be changed. Not in 10 weeks but in 10 minutes. Sure , right, this person is way out of their mind and I am not going to keep reading is what your saying. STOP. Keep reading, I did not say eliminated in 10 minutes but changed. After the ten 10 minutes you are on a road to wellness and in that same day you will start to experience major changes throughout your body and mind. Yeah right. I would not write this if I have not experienced it myself for one full week.( referring to number 2, breathing and exercise )Do I know the pain of depression? To the deepest levels imaginable. Not only in the mind but the body. Imagine taking a 10 inch giant cutting knife to your chest everyday for a full month and for every second of the day you are seeing yourself killing yourself. Maybe you don't have to imagine but at least now know your reading thoughts of someone who knows your pain. Spending years in agony and torture with only one thing driving me. A higher cause or purpose higher then myself( which can be a loved one, animals included, helping people , etc) So all that I can do now is share what I have learned. Since we live in an age of instant information I will write down ten of the most important factors for change to take place.

1)Desire to take action to make the change and giving up any habit of fear and doubt. Meaning just give something a try and see what happens. You hear this a lot but it is absolutely true. Once you commit, something will happen that breaks a pattern or a state your in that you don't want to be in.
2) Using your body and breath to instantly make an impact on your present state( exercise, walk run, jumping jacks, weight lifting, push ups, etc) this can help with anxiety as well. What I am relearning is what a deeper impact the use of my body and breath then me trying to think myself out of something. Even completely changing my posture can cause something positive to happen. Cant walk or run? Try standing or sitting and lift your arms and move them like your rowing a boat.( both arms at the same time) Breath in through the mouth while pulling and breath out while your releasing. Try this at first for 7 to 10 times and see what happens. You will get energy. Throughout the body and mind. Do it again if you can or until you get to that state. If it doesn't happen after two attempts , stop,it will effect you within an hour. Breathing is key . Your a smoker? Try it anyway. It will be a great way to start valuing your breath. Need to relax? Breath in through the nostrils, hold a few seconds then exhale deeply. This I would not overdue , maybe two times, because you need to get used to it and it is very powerful. Take it from someone who doubted this for a long time but then tried it. It works. It gives you the charge your going to need to fight the bad condition your in. The rowing , breathing exercise can be done as much as you want. The nostril breathing takes some building up to. Stretching for a minute or two is excellent as well. Want to wake up and feel better instantly? Try some cold water and rub it over your face a few times, even try rubbing it over your upper body for a minute. Try warm water for relaxing. About exercise , if you have not done it for a long while, just do it for a very short time. Eventually you will be able to work up to more intensity. Remember BREATHE.
3) When your thinking is bad get into someone elses thoughts that are much better and positive and uplifting( book, music, you tube etc)
4) Its often said that fear is the main reason that holds people back from making a change or taking action. As true as it is, its doubt that holds us back just as much if not more. Please stop doubting and start trying.
5) Think of three options( you might think of more) that you have to break the...

Some insights on Depression...From someone who has been EVERYWHERE with it

To everyone reading this and is suffering from very deep depression or a loved one who is seeing someone go through it, first let me say my deepest mercy goes out to you. I have been totally in it, so knee deep in it, it drove me to suicidal obsession, meaning everywhere I looked I saw myself killing myself for a good period of time( That was many years ago) From there I went through over a dozen hospitalizations and went on to experience anxiety, schizophrenia, bi-polar, and dissociative disorder on very high levels. Many professionals would tell me I didn't( meaning just bipolar) but after the research I did I absolutely suffered what I mentioned. Schizophrenia at a very high level was the worst torture imaginable and lasted for a very long time( it still lingers) Bi-Polar is no fun either( its a controllable illness) and dissociative( this still creeps up to but I do my best to grasp onto something real) is incredibly scary stuff. What's the point I am trying to make? I am just letting you know I have suffered to a very deep degree so maybe you can see I can relate to you and feel your pain. Now with depression I have been on the other side listening and counseling and to see such deep sadness is grueling. Yet there is a complete possibility to work out of depression at any level. I can't see you or talk to you so this is a little disconnected but I hope something sparks a thought in you that can help you change the state your in. I took a long break from this forum( I think the forum is awesome) to just go on a journey and learn some things. When I logged in for the first time in such a long while I decided to view the depression forum first and quite honestly it is very difficult to view such agony in each post and not have any answers right away( If we were in person or phone it would it be so much easier) So the a thought came to me to write a blog. We live in the instant information era so I will try to get to point real fast about depression.
First off like many of you I am not rich but do work a very mentally and somewhat physically demanding job to the limits my government allows me. So I do know poverty to a degree to almost the point of homelessness at one point( I'm just relating to what I am reading) Okay, the first steps in getting me out of any state of depression( and other conditions) was having a higher purpose other then myself and the power of perspective( that's a constant for me) The higher purpose could be a loved one, person or animal, helping people, God( yes, spirituality plays the biggest part in me keeping it together and though the mentally ill are considered insane a lot of us have a strong love and need for God. The key in it for us is to realize who God is and who God isn't. Yes the Bible helps immensely but turning to sound minded people for guidance really helps) If you are an atheist, relax, I am not trying to convert you and as I always say, if we walked in each others footsteps 100 percent of the way we would believe what each other believes. Any higher purpose other then yourself could create the spark in you to create a change in how you are feeling( If it is just yourself that's perfectly ok too) Perspective is powerful in the sense that you will see all the blessings you actually have and realize others have it much worse. What kept me from killing myself? The thought of what it would do to my parents. Let me say something to the loved ones of those who took their own life-THERE WAS NOTHING YOU COULD DO!!!!!PLUS THAT DOESN'T MEAN THEY WENT TO HELL!!!!. Actually the highest thing that saved me was a family commitment in which I had to travel. Once your locked in that state, its done. Let go of the guilt and lets just say God is a very merciful God. If your in that type of pain, need I say more. Plus if your religious there is no Biblical proof of it. I wrote a letter to A very prominent television...
