Picture a triangle now you want to break that triangle up into smaller triangles where by you only have more triangles no other shapes and keep breakng the triangle into smaller triangle pieces. now imagine instead of a triangle you have 3 curvy strings and then you keep breaking the shape into more triangulated strings eventually though you reach a singular curvy pixel placement point so the resolution drops if you do an extreme zoom.
Such strings could bunch in 3d giving transformations a less just surfacy feel and making objects appear to have inner body.
The idea is that AI takes care of the mapping and Transformations by training it on data and the Artist manages placement and finer model tweaking.
I suspect such a Graphics and physics engine might take a mini super computer to get only 5fps but with better hardware acceleration and further prototyping you could end up with some 8 to 30 GHz PC that runs games that appear real to the eyes with a good headset on.
