so today i went to see my best friend do a session about self injury and mental health, she has suffered majorly with things like deppression over the last few years. it hasnt been easy but she's got through it. anyway she did this event basically with people telling their stories and encoraging people to think twice about mental health. at the end she told everyone to close there eyes and raise their hands if they had ever cut or felt like it. then she asked us to open our eyes and if we we wanted to for those to that had put thier hand up to keep it up. at first only about 5 including my friend kept thier hand up. but as people saw that there were others they began to put there hand up. it was one of the most powerful and emotional moments of my life it was amazing! then some people came and told there stories some broke my heart. just if your out there and hurting your not alone. you might think you are but trust me there is always someone who cares! xoxo elena

i met someone today who has a terrets (i dont think i have spelt that right ??) he was such a lovely guy and we had a really great chat. i met him in a libruary and i have to admit that i totally misjudged him. i thought he had shouted something rude at another woman there. i totally what the helled him. he explained that he had terrets i felt majorly bad, but he said not to worry about it that he'd rather people asked him about it rather then just assuming he was some kind of freak. maybe thats they key just get talking guys

so im really intrested in mental health having suffered from self injury myself. its really hard having somethig like that hanging over your sholder and having so many people not able to exept it for what it is. self injury is not attention seeking most people who cut can go for years without anyone even notising, what i want to know is how to support someone with self injury and maybe what its like for people who know someone who has been through or is going through it. so if anyone can tell me anything i'd be really greatfull xx elena
