Frustrated, waiting for doc's feedback

Postby never42 » Tue Dec 13, 2011 1:30 pm

Went to see the psychiatrist the other day. She said I may still be cycling and that we need to increase my Epilim dose. So what she did was give me the prescription for the higher dose (1300mg), but I had to get blood tests first, to check liver and pancreas function, and sodium valproate levels. The idea to do it this way round, was so that as soon as the test results come back, I can get the higher dosage if needed.

But now I'm not getting feedback from her. I called a couple of times and each time her assistant says she'll call me. This is frustrating as I notice the moods going down and my concentration is shod and have headaches. I am so tempted, SOOO tempted just to go get the meds. I know I shouldn't, but I am feeling desperate. This is so flippin frustrating. I need to have my head in the game, coz I'm going to resign from my job since I have an offer from another company.

It's just so tempting.

don't do it, wait for your blood results, you might be feeling ok physically but you must make sure your bloods are ok, I was on epilim and it caused my white cells to fall drastically and had to stop it. Don't want to scare you just to make sure you dont self medicate, ring and tell them you are feeling really bad and not coping then they may get on and help you. all the best x

I agree hon - dont do it as it is not a good idea. Please wait for your results to be back, but also keep chasing your Dr so she does not forget. I know it is frustrating but there is the potential for things to go wrong and it is better to give it a while longer and do it on the psych's say so than for things to get messed up.

Keep banging the rocks together.

I at least got headache pills yesterday. I shouldn't be taing so much pain pills. Also I don't want to. I can feel my mood slipping down. Yesterat was the lowest in a very very long time.It was all gradual until yesterday morning when I got up and my fish died. It really hit me hard. It came at a very bad time.

I am really sorry about your fish. Losing pets is horrid and makes dealing with other things like mood more difficult. Thinking of you and I hope things get sorted soon.
