I take 300mg of seroquel at bedtime and 300mg of lamictal in morning. I've been noticing off and on lately that my balance seems to be off. For instance, if I lean over a little bit to pick up something I start to lose my balance and have to catch myself. It seems like today it is worse than usual. When I was showering I really noticed it. I closed my eyes and almost immediately I started tilting backward. I tried it a few more times later and the same thing kept happening. Most of the afternoon my head has felt heavy and off balance. It's hard to describe but it feels almost identical to when I have a buzz from alcohol. When I was driving today and yesterday it was hard to focus and if I let my eyes relax my vision would get a little blurry and almost go double. I really had to make an effort to focus. I have driven buzzed a couple times in my life and that's what it felt like, like my head is a little dizzy or something and hard to focus. The seroquel definately gives me these side affects but they only happen after I take it and during the night. I've never noticed any side effects from the lamictal. I'm wondering if somehow now all of the sudden if I started having these side effects during the day. I'm just starting to worry that something bigger is going on like something neurological. I know inner ear infections cause balance problems but I haven't had any symptoms of that. Also, lately I have been having this feeling of throat being full or a little nauseous or something to that effect. It is one of things that happens when I'm having bad anxiety but I don't know if that's what it is. If it keeps going like this for the next few days I am going to the doctor. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

I cannot advise you as a professional but some thoughts based on my own experience. You may not have ear symptoms with an inner ear infection, what you describe could well be that. I have problems with balance from my meds but they are longstanding and it sounds like yours are more acute which may point to something other than meds. When I have had inner ear infections I have felt much like what you describe. I would recommend you book an appt with your Dr ASAP to rule out anything worrying and treat an inner ear infection if that is what it is.
