What's helped as an adjunct to polypharmacy to treat anxiety

Postby VinnyT » Tue Sep 18, 2018 6:48 pm

I have rapid cycling bipolar with many mixed episode and psychosis. Currently, I'm taking 1000mg depakote, 100mg lamcital, 80mg geodon, 50 mg fluoxetine, and 300mg gabapentin 3x a day. there's times when I can sit still and it feels like my head is gonna explode, and I just pace around holding my head. Other times I cant even get off the couch. Lost all interest in things. Anxiety is a huge problem, and I think may be the root of the others. Help! I'm already on all these meds, what can be done?

Hey,

Late reply, but Im interested too.

Only clues I have: Progressive Muscle Relaxation, Meditation, Breathing techniques.

I think theres an excellent book about Anxiety from Taram Chansky 'Freeing Yourself from Anxiety' or so ?

Anybody read it?
Might be more help in the Anxiety disorders sub forums

That is a lot of medication you take VinnyT, just my opinion, I'm no expert. Usually when I get manic, it's a mixed episode most times. And I've been psychotic a few times as well. So I understand. When I have terrible anxiety I can take Valium twice a day 10mg as prescribed by the pdoc. How are you now?
