Hi, I think I may be experiencing an episode of hypo mania. Went to my doctor today as I've been on anti-depressants for 12 years but think I may be bipolar.
He said I need to see a psychiatrist for possible tranquillisers.
I think my elevated mood is triggered by the fact that the guy I've been seeing for two months moves to New Zealand for good on Friday.
I haven't really slept since Thursday & I'm feeling such a massive range of things. I'm excitable, angry, nervous and the world seems to be moving too slow for how I'm feeling & it is really confusing.
My thoughts are racing and I don't know how to stop them. I stupidly text the guy I'm seeing telling him of how I'm feeling & I don't think he will understand & think I'm strange.
My friends love it when I'm in these moods, they think I'm hilarious and outrageous but I know that I'm heading for a massive black hole of despair. Please help

Hi hon and welcome
Sorry to hear you are struggling atm and that your mood is causing you worries. In terms of knowing what is going on I think you need to talk to a Dr sooner rather than later in order for them to assess you to figure out what is going on. Does sound like you have a lot on your plate atm tho. No one here is able to diagnose you but one thing that I find is helpful to advise ppl is to take a look at other posts and see if they resonate with you at all as this can indicate if you are experiencing what could be bipolar symptoms. Irrespective of what ends up being the cause of what you are going through I really hope things settle for you. Please let us know how you are doing.
Hugs

Thanks, that means a lot. The more I read the more clarity I'm gaining about how my life is. My doctor has referred me to a psychiatrist he said it will only take a few days to get an appointment.
I was prescribed olanzapine about 8 years ago to stabilise my mood but I gained weight so stopped taking them.
I have only ever read health professionals views on bipolar disorder but after looking through this forum I'm getting so much insight & can relate to so much. I will be very surprised if what I have been going through since I was a teenager isn't some kind of bipolar disorder.
It's really helpful to read personal accounts & I finally feel like I can understand why I am the person that I am.

I wondered if its possible to feel really high & really low at the same time? The last few days have been really distressing for me as I've been feeling really capable of achieving things but also desperately numb and angry.

Hugs hon
Wrt feeling high and low at the same time, I find I am like this when I am in a mixed state. Might be worth looking into that and seeing if it matches with your experiences

I got four hours sleep last night & feel sad that I woke up. Sleep forever would be welcome. I'm full of sadness and rage
