coming off of seroquel has left me a mess. I cannot sleep at night. If I wake up in the morning I'm so groggy I could sleep all day. I have no problems sleeping during the day because of how tired I am. I've been making sure I stay up all day and I still can't sleep at night. I have a small supply of klonopin my previous doctor gave me that gets me tired.
I don't know if my new doctor will prescribe it to me though. Is it hard to get this prescribed?
She prescribed me an anti histamine that used to knock me out for a day and a half with just one pill. I can take three and not be the slightest bit tired.

Being exhausted or seroquel is the only way i can sleep. I found its the only drug that will get me to sleep and not let me wake up for at least 4 hours. I havent found anything better for me. Hope you find something. I know how the lack of sleep can effect us.
Caution, dyslexic writer ahead.
Spell check please

you may not be responding to the anti-histamine because of cross-drug tollorance. withdrawl from many of psyche-meds can cause a sleepless manic episode that can last for days. you should return to "normal" as long as you are not needing to take a tranquilizer like klonopen. as a rule, using any drug to induce sleep will by virtue of the nature of it's use be habit forming.
is the room you sleep in dark at night AND light during the day? sounds stupidly simplistic but it makes a differance.
are you getting eneugh vigorous exersize during the early part of the day? (before say 6 p.m.?)
some people use an older anti-depressant with sedating effects as needed for sleep. this can help with depression issues as well, and gives you an opportunity to aid in your own medication program. normally this is preferred to tranquilizers, which in my experiance, only kick the can down the road, do nothing to address your illness,(only treating the symptom) and may actually make bipolar symptoms worse.

Since coming off sedating drugs I have found it hard to sleep - I had to come off some because of side effects and some because of addiction. I was recently put onto trazodone to try to address my sleep but it is causing me some problems- however something like that might be of use. It is a sedating AD. Be careful with using benzos or Z drugs because of the addiction side of things. Short courses are OK but long term use is not so good. At one point i was on long term lorazepam, clonazepam and nitrazepam and it can def cause problems so if you can sleep without them I would recommend that. Looking into sleep hygiene stuff might help too.
Take good care

I had a lot of trouble comming off of seroquel too. It was especially hard when I was still dealing with trauma from the crisis situation that landed me in a hospital. Even when I started sleeping better, I was worried about needing seroquel in case anything went wrong down the road. I used it a few times when I really needed it - life sucked for a few months.
By the way, I kinda wish the doc would have let me get some "just in case" medications, but that wasn't easy for me to ask for so I didn't ever do that.

I've been on temazepam for years, to help me sleep...
If I don't take it, I don't sleep.
The only thing that helps is going to the gym and working out for like 2 hours...
At which point, physical fatigue just takes over...

Well I have a few methods myself..
Also on Seroquel 300 mg slow relase tabs..
But coming of them I have issues sleeping.
One of many ways for me to get some sleep is simply sex.
Nothing calms the body down like a good orgasm. Simple as that.
I can also smoke myself into a stupor.. Good weed never hurt me.. But not that I condone such behaviour...
Apther thing I have begun, is simply no coffee after six at night..
I may be an asshole, but at least I'm an equal oppurtunity asshole...
The beatings will commence until the morale rises...
