Physical changes in you?

Postby Zyphyr » Wed Dec 05, 2012 7:41 am

Man I have so many physical changes in me since the bipolar hit me. My hair has steadily been turning white and my weight goes up and down constantly. What about you all?

Actually I'm only happy with physical changes -- since I quit my old MAOI antidepressant and moved on to mood stabilizer, I first gained three kilos of muscles (rapid amazingness at the gym) then lost three kilos around my waist. No hair loss, no other problems, weight seems steady(ish) now. (Wait. Have I accidentally been prescribed steroids rather than a mood stabiliser? :P) But in general the season (that's what you call a series of episodes, right?) that started in May 2011 has so far given me +17 kgs, most of it in the first three months of MAOI. Can't wait to start a new antidepressant and see if I can reach 100 kg!

I got a little chunky thanks to the meds. Plus, I quit smoking finally back in June, which put another 20 pounds on me. Woohoo!! Not happy!

Sometimes I think it's my meds that affect my appetite, making it go up and down but I think it's just a side effect of being unstable. Everything about me screams roller coaster :?

I have put on weight and I also get sweaty which I believe is linked to antidepressant. Not happy

I don't know if gaining 17 kg is a great change but I definitely changed from boy to man in that time ;)
