When you're depressed it's like you smoked too much weed. You can't really keep up enough to understand things. You're tired. Your thinking is fuzzy. It's hard to do things.
When you're manic it's like being drunk. Impulsive, energetic, moving too fast to understand things. Can't focus. Yet, you feel just a little too good for it to be real.
Current meds: Lamictal (Lamotrigine) 200mg 2x daily; Seroquel XR (Quetiapine) 150mg/daily
Past meds: Prozac 10mg/daily; other SSRIs that I can't remember now.

I'm the exact opposite. My depression is more like when I drink alcohol. Everything slows down, I feel physically heavy and I just want to go sleep it off.
My mania is more like when I smoke weed. Everything is new and shiny and looks completely different, I feel that I have all these great ideas that no one has ever thought of. (I'm more of the philosophical pot smoker)

Some people think I do coke because of my manic episodes. Especially at my college. I'm naturally sociable and silly, but when I'm manic I dominate conversations, and I'm very into what I'm saying. One time I hijacked a History lecture - it turned into a conversation between me and the professor for like 15 minutes straight. Lol. However, when I'm depressed...it's obvious something is wrong with me - I'm just cold and vacant - so they probably think I ran out of coke.

People.
