Person Around Instinct

So in the past 5 days I realised that I managed to create an instinct, like the sixth sense.

With my door closed I somehow can tell when somebody will enter in my room with 10 seconds before. And in the same time reading wikipedia articles or browsing this forum.
This "instinct" is only awaken when I am reading something that I am thinking if somebody will see me reading I will get emberassed.

So when I am doing something that is on the "emberasment list" I just minimize the window and after 10 seconds, I guess, my mom or dad enters the room. And I am not even paranoid or pay attention.

Intersting thing, huh?

It would be nice if you could post about intersting abilities that you own because of AvPD, paranoia or other disorders.

I don't really expect replies, but I wanted to share.

Hyperawareness maybe? - Like you are so anxious of being potentially embarassed that even tho you're doing something else, you've also still got one ear open and are listening and aware of clues someone is coming even while you're not aware of it, e.g. quiet things like footsteps you'd only normally notice if you're listening for them - i don't think you don't have to be consciously aware to be aware of things!

The hyper awarness started to develop because I was paranoid at first when watching "embarasment list" things and conscious I was hearing the footsteps and the quiet noises. And after a time I guess I my mind adapted so my constient part of brain was something like "###$ it I am too lazy for this, the subconstient will be better", so the paranoia gone to a subconstient level. If you understand me lolz.
The brain is such a beautiful adaptive wonder.

Note: I always had a good hearing (uber ears for the win!) and ironically I don't have a musical ear.

I thought i was the only one, my parnets are always knocking on my door and now i can sense it before it happens and sometimes when i know there coming i open the door before they can knock and surprise the crap out of them and they be like who did u know

Because it happens at home I would be inclined to suggest it's you picking up on (instinct) of your parents habits.

I'm guilty of this where I need to check on my kids often enough where they too have this instinct.
I call it checking on them, they call it annoying, followed by the soothing sounds of "WHAT now dad"

Parents are creatures of habit as well!
