Sometimes feels like a metaphor for my life. The human characters are my subjective ego experience, and AM is like the totality of my mind, my self evaluation and which organizes all my choices subconsciously.
(Considering the "I am" alternative meaning of "AM" described in the novella, I think an allusion to something like this may have been intentional by the author.)
