pauses in speech.

does anyone get this? i probably wont be able to explain it so good but most of the times i have a conversation with someone i kind of say what i want to say and then i kind of have an awkward pausing moment. i usually look away and try and think of something to say or wait for them to say something...anyway i guesse ive just recent;y picked up on this although one of my exes said something to me about 'ending' conversations when i talk to someone.. anyone have any thoughts on this and maybe some ideas on how to improve on it? its a really awkward thing to do..

I'm not sure what you mean. Is it like you've finished with what you have to say, but it doesn't come off like that to other people, so they think you're gonna say something else?
I sometimes have that. Though mostly, since I tend to be quite concise in my talking, I get the sense they just don't know what to say, because while they blabbed and blabbed and went off on a few tangents to get their points across, I did it in one sentence, and it takes them aback, I guess.
