Thats the first time I've heard that phrase.
hah same here...must be an Irish thing.
Don't you guys watch the Simpsons?lol! Remember the episode where Homer and Bart worked in the carnival. I thinks it an American phrase from the twenties or thirties.
I've seen so many episodes of the Simpsons that I've lost track of what half of them are about.

Never seen the simpsons. I tried looking up the phrase but didn't find anything. Found that "off your trolley" is a british word from the 1970's.

Never seen the Simpsons?! That's like one of the most popular American animated cartoons. It's even broadcasted on local channels. What's really ironic is there was a Simpsons ad right above the forum before I posted this.

lol, I checked and i had a Simpson ad too. The ads must search the thread for keywords then find an ad that relates to the thread. My mom wouldn't let me watch the simpsons when i was little so i never saw it and don't really have an urge to watch it now.

Same here. When I was like five years old I wanted to watch power rangers, but my mom wouldn't let me because she thought it was evil haha. It's not like I'd watch it now though since it's more like a kids show. My Mom doesn't care what I watch now since I'm 18, which is sort of a relief.

My mom hates the stuff that i watch saying it's satanic, disturbing, evil, etc. she knows she can't do anything about it now so she just makes comments about the shows. The only shows i watch now are Heroes, supernatural, NGE, and lost.

If you don't mind me asking, but is your Mom religious? Mine's like that too with certain vulgar shows, but I can still watch them. I myself am religious, but I don't see any harm in just watching television...

Yea, she's one of those crazy religious women that think the media is out to brainwash everyone and any sort of violence is evil. Gets ######6 annoying.

I can relate. If it weren't for entertainment, I'd probably be in a mental hospital right now.
