Dating coach?

Postby Parador » Fri Oct 24, 2008 12:34 am

I've been looking around on cragslist a lot lately for hookers. I saw a strage ad for a woman who was willing to do nude modelling. I wasn't really into that. Later she changed her ad and said she had a psychology degree. I was interested so I e-mailed her and told her how I had a major problem dealing with woman and that I was a high functioning avoidant. We spoke oin the phone a bit. We are set to meet Sunday.

She e-mailed me later and asked how much I would pay for this. I looked it up and saw that psychologists pay is $35 an hour so I offreed her that. She asked for $50, but I said that I looked up the pay scale and that $35 was a normal rate for someone to make in that field.

I'm not really hopeful that she will be able to help that much anyway. It might be nice to have someone to actually talk to about sex and relationships. I don't really have anyone to talk to about this stuff. I actually do have a couple of women friends, but I'm so sure they would tell me stupid things and that it would hurt the friendship. And I'm not telling them that I'm a 40 year old virgin with severe sexual anxiety.

Any thoughts on this situation?

Why would you rather go to her to talk about her problems then a normal psychologist?

I think there are a lot of free resources online that can help this matter. For my case, I often use yahoo answers to ask questions that may seem very trivial to the average person, such as eye contact in public, flirting, conversations with strangers of the opposite sex, etc.

But hey, it's your money, I'm not telling you to not do it.

I cannot help myself but be suspicious about this. Why would a woman with a psychology degree be advertising herself for nude modeling, and on craigslist of all places. It sounds rather fishy but perhaps I am just being judgmental.

Anyway, I feel the need to second Hatake's question. Why not just see a normal psychologists, though I do know from your previous posts on this forum that you don't like psychologists very much, if that is the case then I think the question should be: What makes this woman any different than other psychologists that you are willing to see her and not others?

Maybe if your start getting nervous you could ask her to take off her clothes. :P I'm willing to bet most psychologists don't do that.

I know it sounds really strange - that's why I contacted her. It really interested me. I need something to amuse myself anyway. If I don't keep my mind occupied I might get a machette and chop up evil bastard dentists who have messed me up. I should post about that separately later.

I definitey DON'T want to talk to a real psychologist anyway. They're all buttheads. I would never trust one.

She sounds like a wack-job. the ones that don't sound like wack-jobs are morons. I've got to at least get her story. it sounds way too cool. Like the hooker.

Did I tell you about the hooker I met on craigslist? She got married to her loser bf between our first and second meetings. Didn't stop her from going down on me. She was even bettrer the second time actually. She needs the money because her husband blows it all on drugs. Cool, eh?

you are living a dream.

She (or he) is probably bored and wants your money.

I met her today. She was late. She said her car got blocked in at her appartment building. I ws right. Wack job. I hope that doesn't sound mean. She seems like a nice person. But really messed up.

She claims to have a masters in psychology. But she has never heard of avpd. I really find it hard to believe you could get a degree without studying personality disorders.

Then she says that she used to work for a mental health agency, but she got fired for reporting an abusive situation. I know this agency and she could be right about that. One of the shrinks there got fired for having sex with patients a few years ago.

She says she used to work as a stipper. She said she is 30 something. I really think she looks more like 40.

She says she works at a hotel now for $11 an hour and is doing the craigslist stuff for extra money. Somehow the topic of medication came up. She told me she takes stuff. She's a walking medicine chest! Effexor, abilify, adderall and something else. She says she has ADHD. She acts like it too. Looks like the adderall is for ADHD, the effexor is for depression and the abilify would be for bipolar. And she wonders why she can't get a bf. Alrighty then!

Avoidant personality disorder is a fairly new pd and if she's almost 40 and got her masters in her mid 20's there's probably a good chance they haven't even given avpd a name yet so she would have no idea what it is. Or maybe she's just faking it all and doesn't know $#%^.

Interesting. I've never really studied the history of it. But if she was practicing as a therapist I would think she should have kept updated to things. If people didn't they'd still be doing lobotomies and insulin shock therapy. I saw a TV show on the lobotomy. It's actually pretty easy to do. Maybe she could give me one.
